About SIJILL

SIJILL (سِجِلّ, "register") is a digital corpus documenting the historical land geography of Palestine — its villages, towns, districts, and the human geography that shaped them. Built from Ottoman land registers, British Mandate surveys, UN archives, and oral histories spanning 6 regimes.

Covers 32 million records across 59 collections — the largest open Palestinian land-ownership dataset ever assembled.

Data Sources

Ottoman Land Code (1858), British Mandate Village Statistics (1945), UNCCP refugee property records, UNISPAL documents, Nakba oral history archives, Khalidi's "All That Remains", Palestine Open Maps, and Zochrot cross-references.
